MONTESSORI LEARNING PRINCIPLES
Children develop at their own pace. They are unique and should be treated as individuals with their own unique requirements.
The Montessori philosophy allows children to explore according to their own interests in a given period. The environment is prepared by the educators and they are encouraged to participate, but the choice of activity is made by the child.
We know that when a child is interested, that’s when the learning happens. In the classroom and on the playground, children learn the skills to interact with others.
They learn what proper speech or behavior is by playing or working with their peers and adults. Teachers encourage good manners throughout the day and apply these lessons in the community when children travel on excursions or when guests come to perform at our Montessori.
A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO LEARNING SOUNDS AND LETTERS INTRODUCTION TO FOREIGN LANGUAGES
The language policy at P’tit Câlin is innovative, progressive, plural, plurilingual and geared towards the training of citizen and multilingual students. At P’tit Câlin, the trilingual French-English-Arabic team speaks to the children every day.
PERMANENT EXPOSURE TO BILINGUAL / TRILINGUALISM
P’tit Câlin employs a multilingual approach with the continual pursuit of the acquisition of two languages FRENCH & ENGLISH from the first year of pre-school and the introduction of a third language, ARABIC from the age of 3. This means that after full schooling, children will be able to express themselves in these three languages, both orally and in writing. For this, P’tit Câlin applies an educational program based on immersion, progressiveness, personalization and active pedagogies. In addition, all language teachers are native speakers and have a teaching qualification.
